Job Purpose

The Design Engineer is responsible for creating and developing innovative product designs, ensuring that they meet both functional and aesthetic requirements while adhering to safety, quality, and performance standards. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting design analysis, and producing technical drawings and specifications for applicable workcenters.  

Technical expert for solution development of the Tractor Loader Backhoe and related products including the design, process development, validation plan and implementation of components and systems. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in or lead a product development team to achieve objectives of assigned projects by:
    • Facilitating necessary meetings
    • Tracking actions to closure
    • Ensuring designs are cost-efficient, robust and feasible for the customer’s application.
  • Participate as a member of a cross-functional product development team to achieve product or design launch.
  • Develop and monitor investments, timing plans, risk assessments & mitigation plans for assigned projects.
  • Support production as needed for day-to-day resolution of issues.
  • Support internal groups who interact with dealers/customers to find resolutions to issues by using standard problem-solving methodologies.
  • Provide status updates to management, following up on action items assigned.
  • Offer innovative thinking, which explore industry “needs”, to create new opportunities and applications for the TLB and RTFL products.
  • Utilize engineering methodologies, philosophies and tools to ensure robust root-cause, risk and mitigation analysis.

Experience Required

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience working with and troubleshooting Construction and/or Agricultural equipment.
  • Moderate to Advanced understanding of vehicle systems and applications. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in completion of major projects from conception to product release utilizing standard engineering release processes and tools.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills working with a strong cross-functional team.
  • Problem solving skills, independent thinking, and the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly to support developing a robust solution and lead others within the current team. 
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision to commit to and meet established targets and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to dealer or customers as well as other plants as required to meet the demands of assigned projects (<10% time).
  • Strong work ethic showing a willingness to provide technical leadership and mentor less trained engineers.

Pay Transparency

​The annual salary for this role is USD $84,375.00 - $123,750.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
