Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Customs Classification Specialist to join our EMEA Trade Compliance team. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring accurate and compliant customs classification of goods across global markets, with a strategic focus on supporting global classification initiatives.
The selected candidate will report to the Customs Classification Manager within the Trade Compliance organization and will be primarily responsible for supporting the EMEA Trade Compliance team on all matters related to customs classification.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify products through the analysis of mechanical drawings and technical documentation
• Classify imported and exported goods in accordance with applicable customs regulations
• Conduct analyses related to Binding Tariff Information (BTI), EU regulations, and rulings on customs classification
• Optimize classification processes and systems to improve efficiency and compliance
• Interpret mechanical drawings and apply relevant regulatory frameworks
• Analyze and continuously improve classification-related processes
• Support both manual and automated self-assessment activities for preferential origin calculations
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of corrective actions resulting from findings during audits and self-assessments

Experience Required

• Technical diploma or degree in mechanical or engineering disciplines, with a solid understanding of automotive industry products
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Previous experience in Trade Compliance, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering
• Knowledge of international customs practices and regulations
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the automotive industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Access, Excel, and PowerPoint), and familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or other business intelligence tools
