Job Purpose
Coordinate product costing activities for both current and new product by providing subject matter expertise in Value Analysis / Value Engineering.
Leads key cost activities by setting target costs, performing new product cost tracking and ensuring cost improvement actions are executed to achieve the objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cost estimation to support Programs target cost setting and Purchasing negotiations.
- Track new product cost evolution during the process to support the Platform.
- Manage cost evolution by updating product cost until implementation in production and report variances; drive recovery plans to support Program cost objectives.
- Provide Engineering changes costing approval and track current product cost variances by causals (engineering changes Q&R/CRT).
- Analyze selected Key Model cost evolution and provide reports to Platform / other functions.
- Assign TCEs at part number level (buy) by priority and update/maintain target cost tracking systems with latest estimates.
- Optimize product cost by proposing, collecting, evaluating and consolidating Cost Reduction opportunities or more economical design/process alternatives.
- Facilitate design cost improvements by interacting with other functions (Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing).
- Promote and develop standardization cost comparative analysis to (proactively) identify new ideas.
- Support make or buy studies cost estimation (buy level) when required.
Experience Required
- Mechanical Engineering degree or in Technical or Financial discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Finance, Cost Management or Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Good knowledge of Machining/Fabrication operations or general manufacturing processes
- Excellent analytical skills, organization, with proactive attitude
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Managing multiple tasks, often with compelling deadlines
- Ability to prepare clear, concise and informative reports and presentations
- Ability to make assumptions and estimates from preliminary information as well as accurate detailed tracking and analysis.
- Good interpersonal skills and drive to sustain cost targets, and interact with other functions
- Language requirements: Good English
- Prior experience in cost analysis and management tools
- Previous experience developed in manufacturing technologies, processes, engineering
- Knowledge of CHN Industrial products is a plus
Pay Transparency
The annual salary for this role is EUR 35.100 - 53.820 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
