Job Purpose
This role is responsible for:
- Development of Chemical parts – Injection Molding, Roto molding, FRP, SMC, Blow Molding, Compression Molding, Extrusion, Thermoforming, Seal, Seat, Filters, Hose, Tank, Steering wheel, Fender, Hoods etc
- Work closely with suppliers for implementing effective APQP systems with Technical Reviews, QRA, PR and PAs, grain matching approval, implementing lessons learned, and PPAP approval (including PPAP approval verification for critical Tier 2 suppliers) and seamless development process for new products.
Key Responsibilities
Primary and Secondary responsibilities:
- Supplier selection through Potential Supplier Assessment audit, technical reviews and releasing QRA score for RFQ finalization.
- Planning various Program Reviews with suppliers as per APQP risk assessment list in line with Build requirements, releasing PR scores and highlighting any risk for meeting project timelines.
- Finalizing tooling development timelines, tool trials and PAs and PPAPs as per project requirements and within NPD KPIs.
- Implementing LPC, resolving PIRs and improving further the assembly and sub-assembly process design, and reliability based on lessons learned.
- Work closely with Engineering, Sourcing, and other functions to resolve supplier concerns in developing and manufacturing the products.
- Giving inputs for conceptualizing and approving the Inspection gauges and fixtures, critical assembly/sub-assembly fixtures and end of line testing fixtures based on past learnings from EHF, Field failures and EWT Issues.
- Establish the Agreement of Inspection, Receipt Inspection Standard, Supplier PDIR before SOP for NPD and ECN Changes.
Experience Required
Essential experience and skills:
- 10~12 years’ experience in handling SQA / SQE in an automotive organization handling Chemical parts development.
- Technical expertise in developing Injection/Roto and Blow molding, Compression/Extrusion molding, SMC & FRP parts, Cassette Seals, Seat, Hoods, Fenders, Filters, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.E. / B. Tech. in Plastic Engineering / Technology, preferably from CIPET.
