Job Purpose

The Plant/Site HR Specialist role includes a broad range of HR generalist responsibilities supporting the Plant/Site Manager, with particular reference to relations with trade union representatives, labor litigation, people development and organization, selection and recruiting, training, internal communication, engagement and culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Counsel and advise employees and management on all aspects of HR program delivery, including employee relations, compensation and benefits, talent attraction, development/succession planning, and safety/workers’ compensation.

  • Drive the consistent application of policy and procedure to ensure fair treatment and maintain positive employee relations.

  • Research and advise on compliance with all local, state, and federal laws to prevent litigation (EEO, etc.).

  • Support the staffing process to ensure positions are filled in a timely manner with high quality candidates. This includes discussing staffing needs with line managers, screening applicants, and participating in the interview process.

  • Design and conduct training on employment practices, as well as specific HR related topics to cultivate the knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of programs.

  • Analyze development needs and implement training plans/programs that support our lean philosophy and identify continues improvement activities.

  • Counsel managers and employees on discipline and implement actions to reduce absenteeism.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of employee relations events throughout the year.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or Business Administration
  • 3 or more years of HR work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Experience developing and implementing internal training classes/programs.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing plant.
