Job Purpose

The Manufacturing Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems to ensure products and processes meet established standards. This role drives continuous improvement initiatives, leads quality assurance activities across manufacturing operations, and partners with cross-functional teams and suppliers to improve overall product quality and operational performance. 

Key Responsibilities

Quality Systems & Compliance 

  • Establish and maintain quality standards for products, processes, and systems. 
  • Lead and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements.  
  • Maintain documentation and control of quality records and procedures.  

Quality Control & Inspection 

  • Oversee incoming inspection, in-process quality checks, and final product validation.  
  • Implement and improve inspection procedures, sampling plans, and calibration systems. 
  • Drive improvements to reduce inspection costs while enhancing effectiveness.  

Performance Monitoring & Data Analysis 

  • Track and report key quality metrics (e.g., OKOL, CQA, ADPU, PPM, First Pass Yield, defect rates).  
  • Analyze statistical data to confirm compliance and identify deviations.  
  • Develop monthly quality dashboards and identify gaps, root causes, and corrective actions.  

Continuous Improvement 

  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on quality system enhancements and process improvements.  
  • Drive defect reduction initiatives using PDCA, Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.  
  • Champion process reengineering initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and warranty claims.  
  • Introduce new technologies to improve quality systems and processes.  

Supplier Quality Management 

  • Manage supplier quality performance, including qualification, audits, and corrective actions.  
  • Coordinate PPAP processes to ensure product compliance and quality.  
  • Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.  

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with engineering, production, and logistics teams to address quality concerns and avoid disruptions.  
  • Contain and manage defective materials to protect production flow. 

Leadership & Development 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop quality inspectors and team members.  
  • Provide training on quality tools, systems, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and “quality-first” thinking. 

 

Experience Required

  • Strong knowledge of quality methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, 8D).  
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making.  
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (required).  
  • Experience with PPAP, CAPA, and SPC tools.
