Job Purpose

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the production of precision agriculture products through the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and assembly methods. This role partners with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges, improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance, and drive operational excellence through the application of Lean Manufacturing principals. The Manufacturing Engineer fosters a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement while supporting the introduction of new products and technologies within the electronics and harness assembly manufacturing environment of CNH Industrial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent manufacturing through new product introductions.
  • Evaluate, review, and design systems/processes to increase production capabilities to improve quality, efficiency, ergonomics, and safety.
  • Provide day-to-today support for the manufacturing of products to ensure meeting customer requirements including the troubleshooting of production problems throughout the plant using structured problem-solving tools.
  • Conduct engineering studies with the manufacturing team to determine root cause and corrective actions to quality issues.
  • Mentor and/or lead continuous improvement projects through the use of Lean principles.
  • Prepare and deploy improvements in tool or equipment design. Assist with the capital procurement process.
  • Design flow lines or floor layouts to promote efficiency through the use of tools such as Lean Principals.
  • Perform or direct major repair or installation of production equipment.
  • Train team members on proper utilization of production tools, procedures, and equipment.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.
  • Establish piece rates by utilizing standard data and time motion studies.
  • May evaluate actual costs and determine causes for overruns in time and materials.
  • Demonstrates support for company culture in the daily actions.
  • May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
  • Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field applicable to this position: Production, Manufacturing, Process, Industrial, Electrical and Mechanical.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Lean Principals and manufacturing processes are preferred.
  • Ability to apply design theory and methodology.
  • Innovative in nature and open to new ideas.
  • High level of customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques in assembly, harness manufacturing, or electronics manufacturing is preferred.
  • Well-developed problem analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficiency with a computer and experience with CAD, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Solidworks.
  • Team player who is self-motivated and has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
  • Travel may be necessary based on this position.

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is USD $62,000.00 - $94,000.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
