Job Purpose
You’ll manage a team of production team members and take ownership of safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across your area. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend time on the floor every day, coaching your team, removing obstacles, and making the operation better. If you're energized by lean manufacturing and want to grow your career in operations leadership, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop your team. Coach, train, and support production team members. Handle hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and day-to-day people leadership.
- Own safety and compliance. Maintain a safe, clean work environment by following and enforcing all safety programs, policies, and regulations.
- Monitor operations and solve problems fast. Watch for deviations in personnel, materials, equipment, and methods. When something is off-standard, identify the root cause and drive a fix — whether it's a process breakdown, a quality escape, or a logistics delay.
- Drive continuous improvement. Lead Kaizen events, 5S audits, and improvement projects using lean tools to reduce waste and improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Hit production targets. Coordinate people, materials, and equipment to meet daily schedules, efficiency goals, and quality standards.
- Manage budgets and inventory. Track operating costs against budget, maintain inventory at target levels, and develop corrective action plans when needed.
- Partner across functions. Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Maintenance to solve cross-functional problems and implement process changes.
- Implement strategy on the floor. Translate company and plant-level initiatives into daily operational execution.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
- At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Cross-functional experience spanning quality, materials, engineering, HR, or safety
- A track record of leading continuous improvement projects with measurable results
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools (5S, value stream mapping, standard work, root cause analysis)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems (MES, ERP, or similar)
