Job Purpose

The SCM Procurement Lead is responsible for leading procurement activities to ensure uninterrupted supply of parts while optimizing cost, quality, inventory and supplier performance.

The role involves managing supplier relationships, driving cost reduction initiatives, mitigating supply risks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of buyers, setting procurement priorities, targets, and performance objectives.
• Analyzing MRP schedules, identify gaps and highlight Risks if any. Ensure timely procurement of production parts/ components, aggregates, commodities to support manufacturing schedules. 

• Procurement of parts for steel, castings, forgings, fabrication parts, electricals, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, tires, and other tractor components as per defined SOB & aligned with business objectives.
• Monitor inventory levels, improve inventory turns, and support working capital optimization initiatives.
• Manage escalation of supplier issues impacting production and ensure timely resolution.
• Manage procurement risks through dual sourcing, and business continuity planning.
• Lead procurement process improvements and digitalization initiatives.

Experience Required

Minimum 20 Years experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate across cross-functional teams including PPC, Logistics, Warehouse, Purchasing, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Proven experience leading a team of buyers and managing large supplier networks.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and procurement processes.
