Job Purpose

CNH Industrial Purchasing is seeking a talented, energetic individual with fresh ideas - a person who is proud of their work and is committed to achieving outstanding results in a challenging and exciting global environment. This role combines advanced technical expertise with commercial strategy to lead sourcing for the largest spend of engineered Metallic components, including Machined and Raw Castings, Fabrication and Weldments, Under Carriage, Forgings, Machined Parts from Bar & Tubes, Raw Material (both Make and Buy), Ground engaging Components, Chains and Hardware. It involves managing complex commodities characterized by precision tolerances, structural architecture, and safety-critical systems. Success in this position requires deep engineering knowledge, mastery of manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, machining, and heat treatment, and strong global supplier management skills. The Regional Head of Metallic Commodity will partner closely with the Central Competency Centers like Drivetrain Engineering Competency Center by engaging in technical discussions to influence design decisions, validate feasibility, and ensure alignment between engineering requirements and sourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and develop the assigned team of Managers (up to six), fostering teamwork and strategic thinking. Coach the team to become strong negotiators and execute strategies for future growth and operational success.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of buyers, providing technical and commercial guidance. Collaborate with Engineering, Product Development, SQE, Quality, Finance, and Global Commodity Leads to align strategies. Ensure alignment between regional and global sourcing strategies. Champion best practices across commodities and regions
  • Financial Budget Management: Create and oversee the annual financial budget for the cluster, managing forecasts in the company system. Monitor monthly progress and adjust forecasts across commodities, regions, and global figures for AG and CE segments.
  • Collaboration with cross functions: The Regional Head of Metallic will partner closely with the Advanced Purchasing Team, Manufacturing, Quality and Finance functions continuously to influence design decisions, validation planning, material selection, validate feasibility, and ensure alignment between engineering requirements and sourcing strategies.
  • Commodity & Sourcing Strategy: Lead the development and execution of commodity and sourcing strategies in coordination with Central Engineering, PDP, and the Global Commodity team. Leverage market insights, manufacturing advancements, and strategic vision to enhance commodity management.
  • New Product Sourcing: Ensure cross-functional teams successfully execute new product sourcing, Supplier selection meeting quality, timing, and cost objectives in alignment with the global commodity strategy.
  • Supplier Negotiations & Contracts: Lead long-term contract negotiations with tier 1, 2, and 3 suppliers to ensure quality, supply continuity, price stability, and cost reductions.
  • Cost Reduction Initiatives: Drive cost-saving strategies using supplier negotiations, VA/VE, market testing, resourcing, supplier rationalization, Make/Buy analysis, and strategic supplier development in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Cost Engineering & Raw Material Management: Manage raw material indexation and pricing for steel, aluminum, nickel, copper, cast iron. Forecast raw material trends and perform scenario modeling and make-versus-buy analyses using advanced cost models.
  • Supply Chain Issue Resolution: Work with internal customers and suppliers to resolve supply constraints and address structural challenges, including financial health, capacity planning and alignment to CNH’s planning.
  • High-Visibility Supplier Management: 
    • Proactively manage high-profile suppliers, ensuring quick issue resolution and effective negotiations.
    • ­Conduct a high level of professionalism in job responsibilities and fully understand supply base and history to present to upper levels of management on various topics aiding in executive level discussions.
    • Maintain full awareness of supplier activities and act as the primary source of information for leadership.
    • Must be able to control stressful situations to bring resolution.
    • Lead cross-functional teams in resolving supplier challenges and mitigating risks.

Experience Required

  • 10+ years in commodity management, strategic sourcing, or purchasing within agriculture, construction, automotive or off-highway industries.
  • Ability to represent prior leadership roles and development of team members in a highly dynamic organization.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of component manufacturing.
  • Expertise in global sourcing, supplier development, and negotiation.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and integrate engineering requirements into sourcing decisions.
  • Strong negotiation and Supplier Management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in advanced cost modeling and risk analysis.
  • Deep understanding of Commodity pricing and market indexation,
  • Demonstrated experience representing and defending company interests with tough or strategic suppliers, using data-driven arguments and strong negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and secure competitive terms.

Pay Transparency

​The annual salary for this role is USD $186,000 - $285,000 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
