Job Purpose
The Product Performance and Technical Specialist is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving the performance of construction equipment products in the field. This role provides in-depth technical support, investigates performance issues, ensures product reliability, and collaborates with engineering, product development, and service teams to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Performance Analysis
Monitor equipment performance through telematics data, field reports, and customer feedback.
Conduct field evaluations and product benchmarking to assess efficiency, durability, and reliability.
Identify trends and root causes of recurring performance issues.
2. Technical Support
Provide advanced technical support to dealers, service teams, and customers.
Assist in troubleshooting complex equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
Support warranty claim investigations and resolution.
3. Product Improvement Initiatives
Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to implement product improvements.
Provide feedback to design teams based on field experience and customer input.
Participate in failure analysis and corrective action processes.
4. Training and Documentation
Develop and deliver technical training materials for internal staff and dealer technicians.
Create technical bulletins, service manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
5. Customer and Dealer Interaction
Visit customer sites to resolve technical issues and gather insights on product performance.
Build strong relationships with key customers and dealer technical teams.
Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related technical field.
10+ years of experience in technical support, product performance, or field service roles within the construction equipment or heavy machinery industry.
Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electronics, and telematics.
Experience with diagnostic tools and software (CAN bus, fault code readers, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Willingness to travel to customer and field sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related technical field.
