Job Purpose

The Planter Vehicle Architect is responsible for the overall vehicle layout on all NA and SA planters and manages all DMU activities, ensuring design coordination across all related functions. The Vehicle Architect is the coordinator between Engineering Services, Configuration Analysts, and Product Development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of vehicle system layouts and oversight/negotiation of space claim usage in the course of project development
  • Support engineering services group in setting up PRP structure and rules regarding the Product Offering
  • Ensure formal cross-functional design and assembly previews and reviews happen during the design process
  • Maintain/support documentation regarding vehicle ballast and base weights
  • Assist project leads & cross functional teams to finalize design assumptions, offering and vehicle specs
  • Act as DMU team coordinator, responsible for the integration between the different vehicle systems.
  • Create/maintain master models using CREO, TeamCenter & Engineering Central

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Experience in product design or mechanical design engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of the agricultural industry and specifically the planting operation;
  • Advanced knowledge of Teamcenter and Creo including master model, assembly and skeleton management;
  • Strong analytical skills, systemic vision and critical thinking;
  • Advanced technical English.
