Job Purpose

This role is responsible for the development, integration, and industrialisation of on‑board precision agriculture technologies that enhance the value of the company’s core agricultural equipment portfolio.

The position will work closely with Chinese integration and technology partners to develop a cost‑effective, scalable precision technologies portfolio for China, with clear potential for global consumption and reuse.

A key objective of the role is to establish a tiered precision technology strategy, starting from an ultra‑low‑cost automatic guidance “first‑buy” solution, and expanding upward into more advanced precision and automation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Precision Technology Portfolio Development

  • Define and develop a scalable on‑board precision technology portfolio, including:
  • Entry‑level automatic guidance solutions
  • Expandable precision upgrades (hardware and software)
  • Advanced features including, but not limited to, automation and autonomy
  • Ensure all technologies align with a clear customer upgrade pathway, allowing incremental adoption over time.
  • Position precision technologies as a value‑adding complement to whole goods, not a standalone offering.

2. On‑Board System Architecture & Integration

  • Lead the system‑level design and integration of on‑board precision technologies, covering:
  • Guidance and positioning systems
  • Vehicle and implement interfaces
  • Operator interfaces and controls
  • Sensor integration
  • Ensure compatibility across product platforms and model ranges.
  • Balance performance, cost, robustness, and serviceability in all design decisions.

3. Supplier & Integration Partner Engagement (China‑Focused)

  • Act as the primary technical interface with Chinese integration partners and suppliers.
  • Evaluate partner solutions for:
  • Technical capability
  • Scalability
  • Cost structure
  • Suitability for global deployment
  • Drive alignment between partner development and product roadmap requirements.
  • Ensure solutions meet quality, reliability, and safety expectations for both China and global markets.

4. Product Validation & Field Adaptation

  • Support system‑level testing and validation across:
  • Development
  • Pilot production
  • Field trials
  • Ensure precision technologies perform reliably across diverse agricultural scenarios (crop types, landforms, operator skill levels).
  • Feed field learnings back into product improvement and portfolio evolution.

5. Cross‑Functional Product Development Support

  • Work closely with:
  • Vehicle platform and hardware teams
  • On‑board software and controls teams
  • Manufacturing and quality teams
  • Aftermarket and service organisations
  • Ensure precision technologies are:
  • Manufacturable
  • Serviceable
  • Upgradeable over the product lifecycle
  • Support internal teams with technical guidance, documentation, and integration standards.

6. Documentation, Standards & Reuse

  • Develop clear technical documentation including:
  • System architectures
  • Interface definitions
  • Integration guidelines
  • Upgrade and expansion paths
  • Capture and standardise integration approaches to support reuse across:
  • Product families
  • Regions
  • Future programs
  • Enable global teams to leverage China‑developed solutions efficiently.

Experience Required

Required Skills & Experience

  • Technical Skills
  • Experience in on‑board systems integration for vehicles, machinery, or industrial equipment
  • Strong understanding of precision agriculture technologies, including guidance systems and vehicle integration
  • Ability to evaluate trade‑offs between performance, cost, and scalability
  • Experience working with external suppliers or integration partners
  • Understanding of product development and industrialisation processes
  • Ability to work at both system level and practical implementation level

Behavioural & Cultural Fit (Critical)

  • Strong team player
  • Comfortable contributing ideas regardless of organisational level
  • Respectful, humble, and pragmatic
  • Willing to take ownership and work autonomously from a project brief
  • Comfortable starting with incomplete information and iterating toward robust solutions
  • Willing to ask for help and escalate issues early when needed
  • Strong work ethic and accountability
  • High standard of written and verbal communication in English

Preferred Background

  • Experience in agriculture, off‑highway, automotive, or industrial machinery
  • Exposure to precision agriculture or driver‑assist systems
  • Experience supporting both OEM and aftermarket solutions is advantageous
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Agricultural Engineering, or related)

Preferred Qualifications
