Job Purpose

The Software Development Engineer in Test II is a hands-on technical contributor on a team that collectively owns our automated test framework for embedded software running on the precision field computer platform. You'll help design, build, and scale that framework while developing robust automated test cases from system requirements, validating CAN bus and network communications, and ensuring compliance with industry standards including ISO 11783 (ISOBUS), SAE J1939, ISO 25119, and NMEA 2000. This work forms the automated safety net that lets our software teams ship with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate test requirements, based on specifications, standard procedures, and internal/external requirements.
  • Design, create and run automated test cases, based on the requirements created.
  • Develop test plans and procedures.
  • Execute and document tests.
  • Identify and recommend test equipment, production equipment, fixturing, or tooling needed to meet product specifications.
  • Prepare reports of testing data, evaluate, and provide recommendations based on findings. Lead or contribute input for improvements.
  • Train team members on utilization of test equipment and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.
  • May assist with the request for quote process, as related to needs for the testing function.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or technical field.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in Software Test Automation for Embedded systems.
  • Strong Proficiency in Python with 3+ years of experience for test case development and automation.
  • Hands-on Experience with CAN tools similar to CANoe/CANalyzer by Vector.
  • Experience with Qt/QML/Squish or equivalent GUI automation tools.
  • Familiarity with virtualization/emulation environments.
  • Understanding of Network Protocols and standards such as but not limited to: ISO11783 (ISOBUS), J1939
  • Experience with git and supporting CI/CD tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Linux and Build System/project Frameworks such as Yocto.
  • Background in Agricutural Embedded Systems.
  • Strong Communication and Problem-Solving skills.
  • Demonstrated use of Root-Cause Analysis tools (Five Whys, Ishikawa Diagrams, Fault-Tree, etc.)

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is $86,625 - $132,825 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
