Job Purpose
The Operations Lead – Launch Readiness is a senior member of the Chief Engineer's office for CNH's precision technology platform. The role owns two connected disciplines of the Chief Engineer operating model: Operational Execution and Launch Readiness.
On the execution side, this leader sets and runs the program's operating rhythm — sprint and demonstration cadence, product maturity, and the quality dashboard — so that every increment moves the product forward without regressions and progress is demonstrated, not described. On the readiness side, this leader builds and runs one connected test-to-readiness value stream across engineering test, verification, validation, customer beta, and regional market readiness, with shared entrance and success criteria and a single evidence record, so that launch is an objective, collective go/no-go decision.
This role integrates and enables; it does not command. The leader works through the functional engineering, systems, test, quality, product, and regional teams that own the work, publishing the standards and evidence they consume and coaching them to raise their own game.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Execution
- Define and standardize the execution cadence across feature, platform, and integration teams: sprint rhythm, bi-weekly demonstrations of working software and hardware, and quarterly integration events.
- Build and maintain the program quality dashboard as part of the shared program room: defect arrival and closure, aging of critical defects, work-in-progress and queue age on the critical path, interface change traffic, and maturity versus plan.
- Drive the program toward releasing quality software every sprint with no regressions, using over-the-air updates to shorten the path from engineering to the field.
- Walk the quality and metrics in the weekly Chief Engineer program review and ensure every team understands what they mean and what moves them.
Launch Readiness
- Design and run one connected test-to-readiness value stream spanning engineering test, verification, validation and alpha, customer beta, and regional market readiness — one definition of ready, one evidence pipeline, nothing re-proven downstream.
- Author and maintain gate packages: entrance criteria, success criteria, and the evidence standard, agreed in advance with every contributing group.
- Convene the readiness groups on a standing cadence and run event-based readiness reviews and launch gates where evidence drives the decisions.
- Own the objective, documented, multi-party go/no-go recommendation to the Chief Engineer and CNH leadership for Limited Launch, Full Launch, and regional releases.
- Route defects, field findings, and customer sentiment from later test stages back to engineering early, while there is still time to act.
- Report lagging outcomes at the gates: lead time, engineering efficiency, total product quality (performance and experience targets), and customer evidence from alpha and beta.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years in product development of complex, software-defined systems, with at least 2 years leading program execution, release management, quality, or verification and validation for an integrated hardware/software product.
- Demonstrated experience running a multi-team development cadence (sprint, demonstration, and integration rhythm) and defining release and done criteria across teams that do not report to you.
- Hands-on experience with gated product development: writing entrance and success criteria, assembling readiness evidence, and leading formal readiness or launch reviews.
- Experience connecting engineering test, verification, validation, and field or customer testing into a single evidence flow.
- Proven ability to build and operate program dashboards and metrics (flow, quality, and maturity indicators) and to drive decisions from them.
- A track record of leading through influence in a matrixed, cross-functional organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in agricultural, construction, automotive, or other regulated, safety-relevant embedded systems; precision agriculture, guidance, displays, telematics, or connected-vehicle experience is a strong plus.
- Experience releasing software over-the-air to a fleet in the field, including release cadence, rollout, and rollback practice.
- Experience with scaled agile program execution and program-increment planning.
- Working knowledge of flow and lean product development principles (visual management, work-in-progress limits, queue and lead-time metrics).
- Experience coordinating readiness across multiple regions and markets.
Pay Transparency
The annual salary for this role is $106,725 - $163,645 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
