Job Purpose

The main role of the Driveline Product Development P.M. is to manage and execute the 5-year driveline roadmap for CCH and 4WD tractor offerings. Primary task is driveline program delivery including targets such as R&D / product cost, program timing, and program content. Secondary tasks are to reduce product complexity, improve manufacturability, increase efficiency, and introduce advanced features / technologies to support the next generation vehicles. Role must work heavily with assigned vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall delivery of the Large Tractor Driveline programs including scope, budget, & timing.
  • Manage & execute the 5-year Large Tractor Driveline roadmap including transmissions, transaxles, & steer axles for both in house & purchased driveline systems.
  • Must be able to influence the team without direct report authority.
  • Develop program R&D budget numbers and program timing plans with support of project planner, project lead engineers, & responsible resource managers.
  • Negotiate program targets with vehicle platforms.
  • Track and report on program investments and development costs.
  • Track and report on driveline design activities for all projects (weekly status, status of plan, etc).
  • Prepare Platform GPD milestone documentation (working with lead engineer to compile).
  • Compile and lead program status reviews (Driveline & Platform level).

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in mechanical, agricultural, and/ or automotive engineering disciplines.
  • 8+ years of experience in product development enviornment, or similar, with exposure to engineering and development processes and multi-functional team collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability of independent and proactive thinking.
  • Must be able to handle several projects at the same time.
  • Strong interpersonal skillset including written and oral communication skills.
  • Extensive proficiency with MS Office suite, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to optimally communicate (verbal and written) issues, problems, and observations of work being performed across multiple levels and work groups.
  • Knowledge of 7-step problem solving methodology and other root cause analysis tools.
  • Ability to recognize issues that need to be raised as well as prioritize resolution.
  • Available to travel 10%, including internationally if required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the agricultural and construction equipment products.
  • Knowledge of off highway (i.e. Tractor, Construction) and / or on highway (i.e. automotive or truck) driveline.
  • Budget (R&D) experience including management of budget of multi year programs. Ability to complete program cost projections based on upfront data from platforms.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Hands on Experience with complex prototype builds in test labs or manufacturing locations.
  • Experience using Pro/E CREO &/or VisMockup software (or equivalent).

Pay Transparency

​The annual salary for this role is USD $120,000.00 - $174,900.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
