Job Purpose
Lead the strategic sourcing, total acquisition cost, supplier relationship, cost management and purchasing strategy management.
Oversee the overall commercial relationship and overall supplier performance to drive cost reduction and organizational initiatives.
Create, execute, maintain, and continually improve upon commodity strategies for the commodities assigned; focused on current and future alignment of technology requirements, and achieving objectives in terms of total cost, lead-time, capacity, inventory management, risk mitigation, and over all supply chain effectiveness. Leads the development of these strategies in coordination with global colleagues and other functional areas (e.g., Quality, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Service Parts, and Logistics).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation and selection of new suppliers, development of existing suppliers, and overall supplier management.
- Develop competitive negotiations to drive cost reduction initiatives with the global supply base, while meeting capacity and quality requirements.
- Manage and negotiate supplier contracts and long-term agreements with preferred suppliers to ensure that market trends, supplier performance, and future business needs are aligned with strategies.
- Collaborate and build strong working relationships with supporting resources and internal customers (Manufacturing, Materials, Engineering, Distribution, global supply chain, and other functions as needed) to achieve plan, ensure adequate cycle time to procure materials, and escalate critical materials from supplier based to meet customer demands.
- Anticipate, recognize, analyze and solve complex supply problems, communicating to and involving colleagues, management and stakeholders as necessary.
- Provide leadership in and develop an understanding of and insight into the market for the commodities assigned; including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead-times, technology and manufacturing capability of company suppliers and suppliers in the market that best meet expectations and objectives.
- Manages annual budget proposal for assigned NAFTA AG/CE commodities/perimeter. Updates budget monthly and tracks performance against opportunities and risk projections. Makes modifications based on changes in economics, raw materials, volumes, etc., investigates, and explains budget variances.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance to meet company expectations and objectives.
- Leads teams in identification of opportunities to meet objectives for supplier reduction, creation of value, supply chain improvement, and customer satisfaction.
- Supports, continuously develops, and trains team members to meet the highest possible standards and to ensure the achievement of challenging purchasing and company goals while demonstrating CNH's key performance & leadership values.
- Up to 25% Domestic and international travel required with little or no notice ranging from several days to several weeks at a time.
Experience Required
• Bachelor’s Degree - Business/Supply Chain or other similar degree program.
• 5+ years of combined experience within Supply Chain, Operations.
Preferred Qualifications
BS Degree preferred
• Lean Sigma experience (green or black belt) preferred and/or CPSM/CPIM certification
• Strong knowledge of corporate purchasing practices and negotiation strategies
• Product cost management a plus
• Experience with cost controls & reduction (VA/VE)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of raw material analysis and tracking systems
• As part of the experience being required, applicants must have had the following:

- Experience in analyzing, selecting, approving and auditing suppliers for different product platforms within a multi-plant agricultural and construction equipment manufacturing environment based upon supplier capability relative to testing, designing, supporting, quality and manufacturing.
- Experience with the manufacturing functions and sourcing of highly engineered components.
- Experience developing and implementing commodity strategies.
- Strong negotiation background with knowledge of corporate purchasing practices and strategies that bring about closures of long-term agreements reflecting positive, future financial results for the company.
- Ability to incorporate co-design agreements, S.O.W. (statement of works), warranty agreements, etc. into the sourcing process and supplier selection.
- Proven experience in mitigating supplier delivery, cost, and relationship issues with positive outcome for the company.
- Experience in Quality Review process, including ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
Pay Transparency
The annual salary for this role is USD $85,000 - $176,000 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
