Job Purpose

The Advanced Purchasing Leader will lead the Product Platform for Large Tractor and Crop Production, representing the global Supply Chain organization. As a key Platform Core Team member, this position will drive the supply chain strategy and end-to-end execution across the full product lifecycle to meet customer needs and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the team responsible for all purchasing activities for all new and current development programs:
    • Responsible for executing new product development, quality improvements, technical modifications, cost reductions, and current product improvement.
    • Accountable for creating and executing sourcing and tooling plans, including budget, to ensure both current and new product launch, meets all Platform targets, for quality, timing, cost of Purchased components, and supplier CAPEX targets.
    • Execute the prototype ordering process.
  • Owns the implementation of strategic sourcing goals by driving alignment between supply chain and platform teams thereby bridging product development and supply chain execution.
  • Manage negotiation and implementation of all aspects of Co-Design/Development agreements for purchased components.
  • Ensures early supplier engagement at initiation of new projects to ensure supplier expertise and knowledge is leveraged in the chosen designs, achieving best possible solutions and costs.
  • Supports and recommends insource/outsource projects by coordinating supply chain activity.
  • Drives results in the Purchasing domain, a true partner in the Platform and with all Regions.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management or related plus 15+ years of purchasing, project management or similar experience preferably in the production or procurement of components and subsystems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestic and international.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Budgeting, project management, negotiation skills, data analysis, cost analysis and modeling, understanding of technical documentation, specifications, and manufacturing processes, understanding of applicable policies, procedures and contract obligations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams, conflict management, clear & concise written and verbal communication, prioritizations, strategic problem solving and risk management.
  • Manage by influence, coaching, decision making, problem solving, create connections, resilience and leads change.

Pay Transparency

​The annual salary for this role is $178,000- $240,000 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
