Job Purpose
As the Advanced Purchasing Lead you will own the supply chain strategy and end-to-end execution across the full product development lifecycle to meet customer needs and business goals of an agricultural product line. The position is focused on new product launches, but also includes quality improvement, technical modification, cost reductions, and overall product improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Leader on an extended team who will be responsible for all purchasing activities for new and current programs:
- Delivery ownership of the purchasing content for projects timing, cost, sourcing, and delivery objectives.
- Owns the creation and execution of sourcing and tooling plans for new purchased content to meet all program requirements for cost, timing, quality, etc.
- Drives the collaboration of Product Development, Manufacturing and Commodity teams to select suppliers, execute contracts, and order parts for all new content.
- Supports the prototype ordering process.
- The implementation and bridging of strategic sourcing goals by driving alignment between supply chain and platform teams.
- Lead the negotiation and implementation of Co-Design/Development agreements for purchased components for agreement among all state holders.
- Ensures early supplier engagement of new projects to ensure supplier expertise and knowledge is leveraged in the chosen designs, achieving best possible solutions and costs.
- Supports and recommends insource/outsource projects by coordinating supply chain activity.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management or related field.
- 5+ years of purchasing, project management or similar experience preferably in the production or procurement of components and subsystems within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to travel up to 20% domestic and international.
Preferred Qualifications
- Budget, project management, negotiation skills, data analysis, cost analysis and modeling, understand engineering prints, specifications and manufacturing processes, understanding of applicable policies, procedures and contract obligations and terminology.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams, conflict management, clear & concise written and verbal communication, prioritizations, strategic problem solving and risk management.
- Manage by influence, decision making, problem solving, create connections, resilience and lead change.
Pay Transparency
The annual salary for this role is $87,000 - $132,000 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
