Intern Program Overview:
 We are committed to building a strong talent pipeline by investing in early career professionals. Summer interns work full-time (40 hours per week) from May through August. Candidates must be currently enrolled college students actively pursuing a degree to participate in the internship program.

 

Job Purpose

The Stress & Fatigue Laboratory Intern will support the validation of agricultural equipment and components through laboratory testing, instrumentation, data acquisition, and analysis activities. The intern will work alongside engineers and technicians to help collect data, execute durability and structural validation tests, and communicate results that support product reliability and design improvement initiatives. This position provides hands-on experience with hydraulic test systems, structural testing equipment, and advanced data acquisition technologies utilized in the development of world-class agricultural machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Assist engineers with setup and execution of structural, durability, and fatigue tests.
Install and verify instrumentation including strain gauges, load cells, pressure transducers, thermocouples, accelerometers, and displacement sensors.
Support data collection using laboratory data acquisition systems.
Analyze test results and prepare technical summaries, charts, and reports.Assist with test fixture design, fabrication coordination, and laboratory setup activities.
Support failure investigations and root cause analysis efforts.
Maintain accurate test records, daily logs, and documentation.
Collaborate with design engineering teams to support product validation activities.
Follow all applicable CNH safety procedures and laboratory operating requirements.
Travel to the field to collect data. 

Experience Required

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Agricultural Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Engineering Technology

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of stress, strain, fatigue, and durability principles.
Experience working with sensors and instrumentation.
Basic knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical systems.
Experience with data acquisition systems such as Dewesoft, eDAQ, or similar platforms.
Hands-on fabrication or shop experience.

Pay Transparency

$19.57-$31.93 Per Hour
