Intern Program Overview

Job Purpose

The Combine Engineering team supports the design, development, and validation of combine harvesters, one of the most complex and critical pieces of agricultural machinery. By working on subsystem design, testing, and manufacturing support, the team ensures combines deliver the durability, performance, and innovation farmers rely on. Prior experience with large agricultural equipment or design/development of agricultural machinery is desirable, along with familiarity in engineering tools such as CREO, FMEA, QFD, DOE, Robust Design, FEA, and other structured methodologies. As a Product Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting combine product development through design, testing, and manufacturing activities, while working alongside experienced engineers to solve real-world challenges. 

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

Preparing and completing designs, layouts, and drawings for assigned elements of products under development or improvement, consistent with project plans and objectives.

Using engineering techniques and considering manufacturing processes, safety standards, and governmental regulations to create cost-effective designs. Performing engineering calculations to determine part sizes, strengths, and solve design challenges.

Supporting prototype builds, preparing work orders, part requisitions, parts lists, and engineering change requests. Assisting with laboratory and field testing, including collecting and reporting results to validate designs. Resolving functional and mechanical problems on assigned sub-systems.

Traveling to plants, supplier facilities, and field test locations to troubleshoot issues, explore alternatives, and gain product knowledge. Learning and applying CNH engineering standards and ISO work procedures, and becoming proficient in CAD (CREO) and engineering data management systems (e.g., TeamCenter BOM).

Experience Required

Preferred Qualifications

Pursuing (at minimum) a Bachelor’s degree in Agricutural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 

Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment. 

The candidate should be experienced with personal computers and MS Office products.

Available to travel to field test sites, as required.

CAD Experience (CREO preferred, others acceptable).

Experience in the use and service of large Agricultural equipment.

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is USD $23.73 - $25.75 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
