Job Purpose

Responsible for defining, developing, and integrating vehicle and implement system functionalities, ensuring customer needs are translated into robust system requirements, architectures, and validated solutions throughout the product development lifecycle.

The System Engineer serves as a technical bridge between Product Management, Software Development, Validation, Manufacturing, Service and Platform Engineering teams, to deliver high-quality system solutions for agricultural machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture, analyze, and manage customer, operator, business, and regulatory requirements for vehicle and implement systems.
• Translate stakeholder needs into clear, verifiable, and traceable system requirements.
• Define and maintain requirements traceability from customer needs through functional requirements
• Support feature development related to tractor systems, implement integration, automation functions, and precision agriculture technologies.
• Define system behaviors and failure management strategies.
• Perform functional analysis and identify normal, degraded, fault, recovery, and corner-case operating scenarios.
• Support Change Review Boards (CRB) as system expert to performe RCA.
• Manage and maintain system requirements, change requests, and defect resolution activities using Polarion and associated lifecycle management tools.
• Support software and control strategy development through continuous collaboration with software teams.
• Define and maintain communication interfaces between ECUs, sensors, displays, telematics systems, and implements.
• Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, validation reviews, and release readiness assessments.
• Support root cause investigations of vehicle and system issues, identifying corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with validation teams to support a correct execution of testing phase.
• Support safety-related development activities in compliance with ISO 25119 and other applicable standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methodologies, and best practices.

Experience Required

• Master/Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in agricultural, off-highway, automotive, industrial vehicle, or related industries. 
• Experience in requirements engineering, system integration, or vehicle development activities.
• Experience working in cross-functional engineering organizations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are considered a plus:

• Experience with Polarion, IBM DOORS, Jama, or equivalent requirements management tools.
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering methodologies and V-Cycle development processes.
• Experience with requirements traceability and verification planning.
• Tractor-Implement Management (TIM), ISOBUS, automation, and vehicle connectivity initiatives
• Familiarity with SysML and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Knowledge of ISO 25119 Functional Safety principles.
• Experience with CAN, J1939, ISOBUS, TIM, Ethernet, and vehicle communication networks.
• Understanding of precision farming systems, guidance, automation, and autonomous vehicle functions.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic architectures for mobile machinery.
• INCOSE ASEP or CSEP certification is considered a plus.

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is EUR €39,000.00 - €52,000.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
