Job Purpose

The Health & Safety Site Manager is responsible for leading and managing all Health & Safety activities within the Modena - San Matteo Site, ensuring full compliance with legal requirements, corporate standards, and industry best practices. The role drives the development of a proactive safety culture, supports operational excellence, and ensures the protection of all employees.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and implement the plant Health & Safety strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  •  Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, communication, and employee engagement.
  • Manage relationship with Union Representative for Safety (RLS) regarding safety topics.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and standards.
  • Lead risk assessments and hazard identification activities.
  • Monitor legal requirements and coordinate their implementation.
  • Oversee contractor safety management and workplace monitoring activities.
  • Define and monitor H&S KPIs, objectives, and targets.
  • Analyze performance data and identify improvement actions.

 

Incident Management

  • Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, near misses, and occupational injuries.
  • Ensure root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor incident trends and promote continuous improvement.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and crisis management activities.
  • Coordinate drills, evacuation exercises, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Liaise with local authorities and emergency services when required.

 

Management Systems & Audits

  • Maintain and improve the Health & Safety Management System in line with UNI EN ISO 45001.
  • Coordinate audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure timely closure of findings and corrective actions.

 

Training & Awareness

  • Develop and oversee Health & Safety training programs.
  • Ensure effective onboarding, induction, and safety training processes.

 

Occupational Health

  • Support occupational health and employee well-being programs.
  • Coordinate medical surveillance activities.
  • Promote ergonomics and industrial hygiene initiatives.

Experience Required

  • Min 2 years of Health & Safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or engineering environments.
  • Experience with audits, inspections, incident investigations, and safety improvement programs.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
  • Professional Health & Safety certifications are preferred.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Health & Safety Management Systems, particularly UNI EN ISO 45001.
  • Leadership and people management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
  • Communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical capabilities, problem-solving and prioritization

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is EUR €39,000.00 - €59,000.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
