Job Purpose
The Driveline & Fluid Power Test Engineer takes responsibilities of tests such as Mechanical/Electro mechanical as well as Hydraulic Systems performance, tuning and durability: lubrication system, gears, shaft, actuators, valves, pumps . Function of the Driveline DRV&FP Test Engineer is to design, direct, conduct, and document complex, non-routine physical evaluations of the function, performance, and durability of components in support of DRV&FP Driveline Product Development. Provide leadership to orchestrate complex test programs by leveraging global company assets and facilities. State of the art of the driveline development and validation must be considered. He combine rigorous technical precision with a deeply empathetic and human-centric approach to engineering, adept at cross-functional collaboration between teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect reliable information from skilled colleagues for each required test to prepare new activities with the state-of-the-art methods for the company
- Plan, direct, set-up, operate, diagnose, and monitor driveline component and integrated vehicle systems tests and evaluations in laboratory, track or field environments.
- Drive the writing/upgrade test procedures based on data analysis and technical specifications.
- Determine required test instrumentation, data acquisition and test control equipment.
- Provide direction to lab staff as well as hands on involvement in the installation, set-up, and operation of test automation, instrumentation, data acquisition and support equipment required to perform tests.
- Establish, follow, and document lab test procedures.
- Determine if the component(s) / system(s) under evaluation are operating according to the intended Design criteria.
- Diagnose problems to determine and implement corrective action, applying strong Problem solving techniques..
- Interface effectively with support groups and customers, such as Design Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.
- Collect and analyze test data, use test data to identify trends, problems.
- Communicate data with others effectively; write formal, technical test reports.
- Cooperate with Design Engineers and Simulations in deciding which test to perform to validate a driveline.
- Cooperate with Design Engineers and Simulations to define if the test has passed or not and if the tuning is ok or not.
- Assure that tests are correctly scheduled and completed for each project milestone.
- Understand the priorities among the different test required and plan the tests accordingly.
- Deal with Test Cell Engineers to obtain test room availability with the correct timing.
- Apply and improve safety procedures.
Experience Required
- Bachelors' degree in engineering or technical field.
- Technical University Graduation (Mech Engineering or similar).
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working with transmissions gears / axles / gearboxes lubrications components, good and knowledge Fluid
- Power Hardware: Hydraulic pumps, valves, actuators, manifolds, accumulators, hoses, and power units is a plus.
- Solid hands-on mechanical skills and experience a must.
- Good computer skills with Word, Excel, MS Office suite.
- Experience with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation preferred.
Pay Transparency
The annual salary for this role is EUR €39,000.00 - €44,000.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
