Job Purpose

Develop and enhance data-driven solutions, leveraging diverse data sources and advanced technologies like Machine Learning and Computer Vision, to drive informed decision-making and innovation in agriculture. Join our team efforts to create cutting-edge agricultural solutions that address real-world challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and effective deployment. 
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance analytic tools: Create and refine data-driven solutions that provide actionable agronomic insights to customers and engineering teams, driving informed decision-making
  • Harness diverse data sources: Leverage a wide range of data, including time-series logs, geospatial information, and images, to inform and improve analytic tools and agricultural solutions. 
  • Design and develop innovative agricultural solutions: Apply Machine Learning and Computer Vision techniques to create cutting-edge solutions that address real-world challenges in agriculture. 
  • Collaborate     with cross-functional teams: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to understand data needs and develop new products 
  • Support field testing and deployment: Participate in field tests, gather data, and prepare software for     installation, ensuring seamless integration and effective deployment. 
  • Inform strategic planning with data insights: Analyze existing data to uncover future trends and opportunities, informing strategic decision-making and planning. 
  • Ensure data quality and integrity: Work with data engineers to identify and address quality issues, developing and implementing processes to maintain high-quality data. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills: Demonstrate expertise in problem analysis, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. 
  • Communicate insights and recommendations: Prepare and present technical reports, providing actionable recommendations to stakeholders and driving business outcomes.  

Experience Required

  • Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, or a related field, and a Master's degree in Data Science or a related field. 
  • Professional experience: 1+ years of relevant work experience in data analysis for precision agriculture application or a related field. 
  • Strong mathematical and statistical foundation: Demonstrate proficiency     in mathematical and statistical concepts. 
  • Proficient in analytical coding: Skilled in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Shell Scripting, with the ability to write efficient and effective code. 
  • GIS expertise: Proficient in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software,     preferably QGIS, with experience in spatial data analysis and visualization. 
  • Data visualization: Experience with Plotly Dash or similar dashboarding solutions, with the ability to create interactive and informative visualizations. 
  • Self-motivated and driven: Demonstrate a strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data visualization and reporting: Experienced in using PowerBI or similar platforms to create interactive and informative dashboards and reports. 
  • Computer vision capabilities: Familiarity with OpenCV and/or other computer vision libraries, with     experience in image and video processing. 
  • Software development best practices: Good understanding of software development principles, including version control systems (e.g., Git), code reviews, and collaborative development methodologies. 
  • Cloud-based infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, including SQL and NoSQL databases, modern data warehouse solutions, and cloud-based data processing tools. 
  • Linux: Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
