Job Purpose
This position reports to the Materials Manager, this position is responsible for the planning, coordinating, packaging, and shipping of all Service Parts, Interplant sales and dealer support. They create customer success by delivering the best experiences to their internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations including those regarding the usage of PPE, Emergency Plans and EH&S Policy.
- To identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions by completing observation cards.
- To maintain 5s by removing all tools, equipment, and parts not needed in the work area and for those that are needed to ensure they have a dedicated, labeled home and are in that dedicated home.
- To monitor for and alert their Team Leader or Supervisor of any abnormalities from the standards in their area. This includes abnormalities in standard processes, standard machine operation, product quality, and logistics management.
- Completes all CILR activities as required, identifies deficiencies and sources of contamination, including difficult access areas in the workstation, and provides suitable countermeasures to address these issues.
- To schedule service parts to meet customer orders and expectations.
- To review and schedule break down assist (BDA) and unit down orders.
- To maintain and update NAPO Open Order Book
- Schedule MPS sheets for Air Pack, Presswheels, Trips and Tire assemblies
- Schedule interplant sales (Goodfield Hubs / Brazil Fans / Helpouts)
- To review and approve material requests,
- To review setup and dealer shortage claims.
- To package and ship service parts, break down assist (BDA) and unit down orders, and inter plant orders.
- To request outsourcing of service parts we can no longer supply.
- Maintain relationship of NAPO's master part list with FCDMS service source codes
- Review / resolve NAPO rejected parts.
- To plan manufacturing orders from the master production schedule to meet shipping requirements, by means of capacity planning, the detailed planning and release of manufacturing work orders, and subcontract orders.
- Schedule, contact and expedite parts from internal work centers. Work with production supervisor to develop and implement contingency plans when vital and keep management informed of actions being taken.
- Perform lot sizing and load leveling solutions to achieve efficient and effective workflow, minimize material handling, and reduce total costs. When required to recommend subcontracting.
- Analyze and resolve critical planning issues to meet the production schedule, quality, inventory, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Close completed orders accurately and timely to reflect credible data, satisfy data collection requirements, measures, and performance reporting.
- Utilize information system tools to maintain part number data-element integrity within the plants planning information system databases.
- Analyze and correct, or facilitate the correction of, discrepancies, paperwork, or inventory problems to maintain parts flow and improve inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with various departments to ensure timely execution of new product launches in parallel with current production.
- To contribute to the continuous improvement of safety, quality, and productivity by submitting one (1) Suggestion every two (2) months for a total of six (6) per year.
Experience Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, preferably in Supply Chain Management or Production Operations Management.
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which are moderate physical effort in handling tools, making inspection set-ups, checking. Equivalent to occasionally exerting average effort, some limited heavy effort.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of forklift driving experience.
- Experience in MRP/ERP systems, production control activities, production and inventory management processes, company products, sources of supply will be considered an asset.
- Experience in computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Experience in Manufacturing Control systems, shop planning procedures and physical plant layout.
- Knowledge of line scheduling, rates of production, machines, tooling, set-ups, unit variations, orders and speeds of operation, capacities, sheets, blueprints, alternative processes.
- Solid understanding of Manufacturing Control systems, shop planning procedures and physical plant layout.
- Project management experience.
