Job Purpose
We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team in New Holland, Pennsylvania. In this role you will develop and implement quality assurance programs and procedures to verify conformance of manufactured components and our exceptional finished products to established specifications and quality standards. This position is 100% on site at our New Holland, PA manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Continually improve the quality assurance programs that verify or improve existing product quality.
- Provide quality assurance support, input and decision making to production, manufacturing engineering, suppliers and product engineering programs.
- Own quality for launch programs, including PCPA coordination, risk mitigation, launch readiness, and cross-functional launch support and communicate quality performance, risks, and corrective action status.
- Champion/facilitate the necessary actions to contain, resolve and prevent quality failures as they occur within the daily manufacturing process. This requires ensuring that robust containment actions are taken whenever quality issues are identified to ensure that defective product is purged throughout the manufacturing system and any whole goods that are affected are quarantined. Facilitate Lean Manufacturing techniques to eliminate root causes of problems permanently.
- Assist in defining any field actions that may be necessary because of an internal quality issue.
- Champion the development and implementation of vital procedures and shop floor standards. The use of Six Sigma tools, statistical techniques, capability analysis and the accurate application of various gauging techniques will be essential.
- Lead implementation of statistical techniques to control and understand our parts making processes. This includes the application of gauge R&R studies to ensure the measuring systems are being used are robust as well as using capability studies to recommend ongoing gauging frequencies.
- Facilitate the development of process control plans and FMEA to ensure ongoing control of new components as they are launched
- Work with our purchased part supply base for review and approval of PPAP documentation. Communicate and work with our suppliers and SQE to resolve quality issues with purchased parts.
- Leading role in the ongoing development of our Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015). This would often involve championing sub-teams to develop plant wide procedures and processes to better control the quality of our products. A good understanding of the ISO9001 standard and QMS will be essential.
- Dedication to continuous improvement utilizing Lean Manufacturing methodology to understand the problem, phenomenon and root cause throughout the manufacturing process is essential. Kaizen projects will be completed and presented to plant management and external auditors on a frequent basis to hone knowledge and understanding.
Experience Required
- Bachelors degree is required (Bachelors degree in Engineering or similar is preferred)
- Minimum 3 years quality experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Every day use of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, PowerBI
Preferred Qualifications
- Good statistical experience including the application of gauge R&R, capability analysis and SPC
- Six Sigma Green Belt minimum preferred
- Internal auditor level understanding of ISO9001:2026
Pay Transparency
The annual salary for this role is USD $74,625.00 - $99,500.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
