Job Purpose
The sales representative is expected to build strong key account customer relationships, identify new market opportunities and stay updated on product and industry trends. The purpose is to drive retails by promoting- and selling to and supporting a portfolio of strategic key account customers nationally, to achieve monthly and annual targets, as well as national market share growth of Case Construction equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
- Identify, approach and frequently visit existing and potential large construction equipment fleet owner customers
- Present and demonstrate construction equipment and integrated package solutions
- Develop and execute key account sales strategies to meet or exceed targets
- Market and assist key account customers with finance deal options and structures
- Compare different equipment models based on efficiency and long-term cost savings
Sales Targets & Performance Analysis:
- Achieve monthly and quarterly targets to increase national market share
- Provide accurate forecasting in accordance with market segment trends and target market share
- Understand and explain financing options, interest rates, instalment plans (and other relevant financing requirements) to key account customers
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build & Maintain strong relationships with new and existing key account customers
- Provide after-sales support and follow-ups to ensure large construction equipment fleet owner customer satisfaction
- Address key account customer concerns and provide integrated package solutions to their needs
- Continuously ensure a professional and effective service delivery to customers
Product Knowledge & Technical expertise:
- Stay updated on the latest construction equipment usage, features and benefits
- Stay updated with the latest trends on technology
- Stay updated with technology attachment trends and application in the construction sector
Sales Admin, systems and reporting:
- Prepare quotations and proposals using Costing Schedules, Templates and Microsoft Office programs
- Calculate profit margins and discounts accurately
- Load and maintain key account customer calls and visits detail on weekly Call Reports
- Ensure correct administrative procedures followed to ensure deals’ successful completion
- Monitoring stock on hand on a regular basis
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
Experience Required
- 3-5 years proven experience in sales, business development or account management, preferably in Construction Equipment
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Proven Construction & Technical knowledge; understanding of machinery and attachments (machinery minimum requirement)
- Experience working with compact and heavy line construction equipment will be advantageous
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with strategic large construction equipment fleet owners
- Sales or Technical Customer Support Experience
- Working on SAP and or other similar system
- Experience on a Customer Relations program
- At least 3-years working with Equipment financing deals
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum requirement:
- Matric / Grade 12 (With minimum required experience)
- Advantegous
