Job Purpose
The New Product Quality Specialist (NPQ) is a core team member of the product platform, responsible for all aspects of Quality affecting New Product development and launch. As the "Point of Contact" for Quality in the platform, the NPQ is the Subject Matter Expert for all quality & reliability planning tools and interfaces with the platform, plants and the regional and global quality departments. S/he is responsible for the entire quality plan for the assigned programs and, as a Core Team member, advocates for the extended quality and product support team.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Quality and Reliability of products coming out of the platform teams, shared with and in support of the Platform leaders.
- Facilitate the adherence to the Global Product Development (GPD) regarding quality issues during each phase of the process ensuring appropriate timing between milestones. During the GPD phases, continuously assess the quality status of the program, take actions within the platform to address issues and to define acceptable standards. Escalate unresolved issues as appropriate to facilitate resolution.
- Responsible for the deployment of Quality tools and lead the Quality and Reliability portion of the Risk Assessment checklist. Lead the deployment of appropriate mitigating actions for all high-risk items.
- Facilitate the disciplined execution of the Quality and Reliability priority tools (Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis, Control Plans, and other statistical techniques) through the design review process. As an expert reference on these tools, s/he must understand when each of these tools are used and how they are triggered, to ensure effective application.
- Champion the resolution of issues from Design Reviews and FMEAs (Design & Process). Focusing on key customer impact issues, ensuring they are resolved prior to Okay to Ship (OKTS).
- Support Reliability Growth Activities using Reliability planning & tracking methodology including
- New Content Risk Index (NCRI) and create the Proactive Credits Log.
- RGT Planning in compliance with CNH standards, ensuring proper evaluation of the product in all target markets and operating conditions.
- Report RG status to the platform team, escalating any deviation from the plan, proposing solutions to maintain timing and achieve targets whenever possible.
- Participate in the setting of objective goals and report at milestones using the Quality Scorecard.
- Assure that SQE supplier's actions and readiness for launch is taken into consideration at each milestone, following the GPD checklist.
- Drive adherence to CNH's Component Classification and Significant Characteristics standard ENS0301.
- Identify potential carry-over issues from the current product, ensuring identification at the Program Initiation (PI) stage. Follow up and ensure identified carry-over issues resolution plan with closure and validation before OKTS.
- Lead the Problem Integrity Report (PIR) activities ensuring the key issues are resolved with an effective and validated solution.
- Drive the action plan activities for CPA and Process Control Plan Audit (PCPA).
- Monitors and reports warranty status vs. goal.
Experience Required
- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices
- Quality management experience and problem-solving expertise
- In depth knowledge of quality tools: Design Reviews, FMEA, Control Plans, Fault Tree Analysis, Product Validation/Verification using statistical techniques
- Experience of and capability to understand detailed technical issues
- Fluent English language.
- Project management skills / familiarity with project scheduling tools
- Good PC and software Skills.
- High Level of working flexibility required, Willingness to travel.
