Job Purpose

Focusing on large tractor products (300hp and above), this role serves as a core product marketing position in a leading foreign-invested agricultural machinery enterprise and is responsible for product definition, full product lifecycle tracking, product market-oriented promotion, and product iteration strategy planning.

The role collaborates with R&D, Commercial and other departments, to drive growth in the market share and brand influence of large tractor products. It aligns with agricultural production scenarios to help products accurately reach target customers (large-scale growers, agricultural machinery cooperatives, state farms, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

Market Research & Demand Insight -

  • Conduct research on industry policies, market capacity, regional planting structure and agricultural machinery subsidies for large tractors.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with users, dealers and cooperatives to identify operation pain points, functional requirements and application scenarios.
  • Continuously track competitors’ parameters, configurations, pricing, channels and promotion strategies, and complete competitive benchmarking analysis.
  • Deliver high-quality market research reports, demand lists and product opportunities to support product planning.
  • Stay updated on emerging agricultural technology trends, telematics advancements, and regulatory changes.

Product Planning & Roadmap Management -

  • Develop and manage medium and long-term plans, annual roadmaps and iteration plans for large tractor products based on China market characteristics.
  • Be responsible for product definition, functional specifications and acceptance criteria, configuration planning, value positioning, differentiation selling points and core competitiveness design.
  • Promote the integration of China requirements into the global product system and ensure the effective implementation of China market needs on the global platform.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle and formulate strategies for product introduction, upgrade, update and phase-out.
  • Escalate significant issues which are affecting the product from reaching its potential.
  • Collaborating and working with Product Development to make sure the development progress, cost targets, quality standards and key milestones are in line with the program delivery standards.

Product Go-To-Market, Sales Enablement and Channel Support -

  • Working with Commercial sales, Marketing, Parts, Services teams to ensure the products are fully commercialized, supported and enabled to adequately sell the growing product portfolio.
  • Participate in cost accounting, pricing strategy, configuration gradient and profit model analysis for large tractors. Monitor and respond timely to market price fluctuations and competitive strategy changes.
  • Provide product promotional materials, technical documents, key scripts and promotion content to support marketing communication.
  • Provide support for the commercial sales and marketing during product launch by providing clear information about the product and assisting with product presentations both commercially & technically.
  • Provide professional training on product knowledge, selling points and competitor response for sales teams and dealers.

Product Lifecycle Operation, Continuous Improvement & Innovation Management -

  • Monitor the market performance, quality feedback, technologies, user reputation and competitiveness changes of on-sale large tractors.
  • Regularly review business data and output product analysis reports and market improvement strategies.
  • Monitor the product range for potential end-of-life functions/features/components and escalate as required.
  • Driving innovation in agronomy and farming solutions from the large tractor and related portfolio.

Experience Required

Technical Skills -

  • Deep understanding of tractor product structure, core systems, technical parameters, configuration logic, and competitive product landscape.
  • Understanding of China’s agricultural planting patterns, agronomic requirements, regional market differences, and regulatory & compliance requirements including agricultural subsidy policies and emissions regulations.
  • Understanding of product management and marketing fundamentals; knowledge of wholesale and retail channel dynamics.
  • Ability to conduct market research, demand analysis, competitive benchmarking, product definition, and product planning.
  • Understanding of farmers’ and contractors’ needs and expectations regarding tractor and machinery performance, as well as dealer performance.
  • Ability to manage projects, collaborate across departments, control progress, and solve problems.
  • Strong cost awareness, pricing logic, profit analysis, and understanding of commercial strategies.
  • Ability to balance market needs, product feasibility, and overall business objectives.

Soft Skills -

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and excellent communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Result-oriented, strong execution, able to work under pressure and adapt to business trips.

Preferred Experience -

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in product management, marketing, product planning in agricultural machinery (tractor preferred) industry.
  • Practical experience in full life cycle management, new product launch and market promotion of large tractor products is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the application of agricultural equipment and implements.
  • Thorough knowledge of farming practice.
  • Thorough understanding of marketing theory and practice.
