Precision and Vehicle Controls Program Manager
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating multiple projects within an organization, ensuring they align with the company’s strategic objectives. This role involves managing project teams, resources, and timelines, ensuring that programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
As the Precision Electronics Program Manager with Vehicle Electronics & Precision Applications team, you will be responsible to plan, manage, and direct all development activities of Multiple programs, to meet customer needs and fit within the capabilities of the Precision Electronics team. The team works across component and platform programs to ensure that on time launch of products to meet the customer needs, thereby having a positive impact on the business
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end to end execution of Precision Electronics deliverables for platform integration programs
- Ensure the programs meet their quality / delivery (timing) / scope / financial objectives
- Work closely with internal and external teams (Business platform, Technical Product Managers, Engineering/Development, Architecture, Security, Product Validation, quality etc.) to develop and execute short-term and long-term plans, policies, procedures, resources, and initiatives.
- Work with leadership and program teams to maintain accountability to budgets, plans, and initiatives.
- Gain knowledge of the customer and business needs; thereby contributing to strategic decisions.
- Measure and monitor project performance; Create, maintain and review project status reports to support close surveillance over Solutions development and support events to assure proper allocation of resources.
- Ensure project plans and timelines are met by internal and external resources through Program Increment (PI) team plans and commitments.
- Understand and manage the program risk throughout the life cycle; initiate mitigations, or corrective actions as necessary.
- Serve as a liaison and mentor to assist with and expedite product related issues.
- Monitor and initiate improvement projects to current processes.
- Holds post-program lessons learned to look for issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Effectively communicate to stakeholders with the appropriate content and frequency.
- Provide feedback to leadership regarding process items that could improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire product development process.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software/electronic hardware development programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of product development and procedures, including general finance exposure; both Waterfall Methodology and Agile Framework - such as SCRUM, SAFe
- Experience managing budgets and increasing efficiencies
- PMP or Six Sigma preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, documentation, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Project) and Tools like Polarion, JIRA, Confluence
- Ability to understand and drive various Root Cause Analysis techniques in Embedded Software Domain
