Job Purpose

  • Lead the risk management function for financial services in the AANZ region. The portfolio approximates $2 billion covering retail (including portfolios with partners), wholesale, and trade finance. The position provides specific risk support across all major markets (including Australia, India, and China) and business segments. The position will report to the Global Risk team and work closely with the regional credit, commercial lending and finance teams as well as the respective Country Managers in assessing, monitoring and managing risk.  The position is additionally responsible for managing and supporting resources with modelling and analytics capability.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform portfolio risk analysis and maintain key risk metrics covering credit quality, delinquencies, losses, reserves, and cost of risk.
  • Manage loss forecasting, reserve analyses, and CECL/US GAAP support, including budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Conduct country, regional, and macroeconomic risk assessments to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor credit risk scorecards (origination, behavioral, collections) and automated decision strategies using advanced analytics and AI/ML techniques.
  • Lead the development, validation, and performance monitoring of risk models and decision tools across underwriting, collections, and portfolio management.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives through automation, AI-driven solutions, and enhancements to credit processes and systems.
  • Deliver data-driven insights and ad hoc analyses to support strategic business initiatives and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Benchmark risk performance, policies, and practices against industry peers and market standards.
  • Develop and maintain risk policies, governance frameworks, controls, and best practices across regions.
  • Support new business initiatives, growth strategies, and product development through risk assessment and analytics.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and consistency of risk methodologies across global teams.

 

Experience Required

7+ years of experience in credit risk management, portfolio analytics, and predictive modeling.

Preferred

  • Experience in capital goods, equipment finance, or captive finance industry, with an understanding of dealer networks, distribution channels, and end-customer financing dynamics.
  • Knowledge of agricultural and construction equipment markets.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and drive alignment across a global, matrixed organization.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Strong expertise in Azure Databricks, SAS, Python, and cloud-based analytics platforms.
  • Proven track record of developing, implementing, and monitoring predictive models, scorecards, AI/ML solutions, and data-driven decision frameworks.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights and strategic recommendations.
