Job Purpose
This role is responsible for leading the sourcing and commodity management of Powertrain parts, ECUs, control systems, electronics, displays, telematics and supplier designed components for tractors and harvesting equipment across India operations. The role will manage an annual buying value of approximately INR 200 Cr and will report to India Purchasing & SQE.
Key Responsibilities
Lead commodity strategy development and deployment for Powertrain electronics, ECUs, control systems, displays, telematics and supplier designed parts
· Manage sourcing, negotiations and contracting for an annual spend of approximately INR 200 Cr, ensuring delivery of cost, quality, technology and timeline targets
· Drive supplier selection and development for electronic and control system commodities, including technology capability, engineering support, manufacturing readiness and long-term business fit
· Support new product programs for tractors and harvesting equipment through early supplier involvement, techno-commercial evaluation, development tracking and launch readiness
· Lead annual cost negotiations, productivity initiatives, VA/VE opportunities, localization programs and commercial cost reduction projects with cross-functional teams
· Manage commercial complexity related to electronic components, semiconductor availability, software/hardware interfaces, supplier IP, design ownership and long-term technology roadmaps
· Collaborate closely with R&D, Product Engineering, SQE, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Platform and Global Commodity teams to align sourcing decisions with product requirements and business priorities
· Build and manage strategic supplier relationships for critical technologies such as ECUs, displays, sensors, telematics devices, wiring/control interfaces and supplier designed modules
· Monitor and mitigate supply risks related to capacity, component shortages, obsolescence, compliance, quality, cybersecurity expectations and supplier financial stability
Experience Required
20+ years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management or Supplier Development, preferably in Automotive, Off-highway, Agricultural Equipment
· Strong experience in sourcing of ECUs, controllers, displays, telematics, sensors, electrical/electronic modules, powertrain-related systems and supplier designed components
· Proven ability to manage strategic suppliers and complex techno-commercial negotiations in a global, matrix organization
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering background, preferably in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics or related discipline. MBA or supply chain qualification will be an added advantage.
