Job Purpose

The Capex and Services Buyer is responsible for managing sourcing and procurement activities across IT-related capital expenditure and services, engineering contracts, consulting contracts, electronic equipment and components used in machines, plant operations, automation, and infrastructure applications, as well as cloud-based services and technology solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Identification and Qualification: Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for capex and services categories, including IT-related capex, engineering contracts, consulting engagements, electronic equipment and components used in machines, plant applications, automation systems, infrastructure requirements, cloud services, GCC support services, and other technology-enabled business needs based on technical capability, commercial competitiveness, financial stability, compliance, and performance history.

Supplier Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers to ensure they meet quality, delivery, and cost expectations.

Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for capex and services categories, including engineering contracts, consulting contracts, GCC-related service agreements, cloud service agreements, infrastructure services, electronic equipment, machine and plant-related electronic components, and technology-enabled purchases, ensuring terms are commercially competitive, contractually robust, and aligned with organizational goals.

Purchase Order Management: Manage the creation, approval, and tracking of purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate procurement of goods and services.

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Analysis: Evaluate the total cost of ownership for IT hardware, electronic equipment and components, machine and plant-related electronic items, cloud services, GCC support services, engineering services, consulting assignments, and other capex and service purchases, including acquisition cost, implementation cost, maintenance, licensing, renewals, service levels, scalability, obsolescence risk, localization opportunities, and end-of-life considerations.

Experience Required

  • Preferred experience of minimum 15 years in strategic sourcing and procurement, with strong exposure to capex and services categories such as IT-related capex, engineering contracts, consulting contracts, electronic equipment and components for machines and plant applications, cloud services, and GCC-related sourcing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate Engineer. MBA or certification in Supply Chain/Procurement will be an added advantage.
