Job Purpose

The Sheet Metal Commodity Specialist is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for sheet metal components, assemblies, and fabricated parts. This role owns annual spend of approximately $40M, leads a team of sourcing professionals, and collaborates cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, Finance, and Program Management to drive cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and supplier innovation

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management 

• Develop, implement, and maintain a 3–5 year commodity strategy for sheet metal, stamping, and fabricated components

• Lead negotiations, supplier selection, and long‑term agreement development

Supplier Management 

NPD & SSP program

• Support New Product Development (NPD) by aligning supplier capabilities with project needs
• Support Strategic Sourcing Program (SSP)  

Team Leadership 

 Cost & Budget Management 

Experience Required

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field. MBA preferred
2. 15+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management, preferably in sheet metal or fabricated mechanical components. 
3. Demonstrated experience managing a spend of $40M+
4. Proven leadership experience managing teams
5. Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills
6. knowledge of ERP like SAP / LN / Oracle etc; & relevant purchasing systems

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Diploma + Btech / MBA (preferred)
