Job Purpose
The Validation Manager for Planters and Seeders will be fully responsible for end-to-end validation of the platform’s products. This includes (but not limited to) Global Product Development programs, Current Programs, Cost Reduction and any integration of digital features into the product. Along with the validation responsibility, this role will consist of leading and growing a group of test engineers and technicians and ensuring they are positioned with the right skills and tools to align to the platform's strategic roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Acceptability: Accountable for product acceptability through the full product life cycle. Highlights program risk identified in validation at key milestones and contributes to core team key decisions.
- Mission Profile Definition: Leads the definition of use cases, which includes the key customers, locations, and crop exposure from a testing perspective. Aligns acceptance criteria to customer, business, and regulatory requirements.
- Integrated Validation Plan (IVP): Plans all activities to ensure an acceptable product (quality, reliability, performance, serviceability, and compliance). Engages all support teams for technical input for plan development. Regularly communicates the IVP status to the Product Development team and drives Analysis & Validation (A&V) team to execute IVP.
- Validation Budget: Defines the budget required to execute the IVP through input from A&V leaders. Partners with the Platform to manage changes and spending to align with overall business and product needs.
- Test Fleet Management: Aligns test fleet to IVP by defining fleet size, configuration, deployment, and utilization.
- A&V Process, Methods and Technologies: Ensures internally developed process, methods, and technologies align with the strategic direction of our business and effectively integrates these advancements into the validation process.
- People Leadership: Maintains, grows and aligns a team of test engineers and technicians to be prepared for the Planter and Seeder Platforms strategic product roadmap
Experience Required
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Agricultural Engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of prior work experience in Engineering or Validation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience leading a small team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally across teams.
Pay Transparency
The annual salary for this role is USD $119,000.00 - $174,000.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
