Job Purpose

As a 4WD Validation Operations, you will act as a site lead for the Fargo Large Tractor & Crop Production Product Validation team and will be responsible for managing a local engineering team. You will ensure the successful validation of Large Tractor & Crop Production in support of product development.

Key Responsibilities

This position is responsible as Operations Lead for the Fargo AG Product Validation team and will be accountable for Engineering Test Center (ETC) site operations, including:

•    Managing Fargo Ag PV Cost Center & Budget, including site indirect
•    Setting priority for the site, working with the Chief Engineer & team
•    Accountable for site process & efficiency management
•    Facilities & preventative maintenance
•    Fleet management, inventory & depreciation
•    Strategic CAPEX planning & execution in support of business goals 

 

In this role, you will support product development in executing test plans and accurate budgeting and workforce planning.
•    You will also maintain and communicate project status, issues, timing status, and alert management to significant issues or roadblocks
•    Proactively defines and develops test / validation automation and efficiency improvements
•    Supports the preparation, update, and communication of the overall validation plan, budget & schedule
•    Based on available resources (budget / FTE / equipment), maintains a resource plan to accomplish the product validation activities

 

This position is also responsible for managing a cross-functional Product Validation team to ensure the validation of Large Tractor & Crop Production in support of the product development process.

This includes:
•    Identifying resources, facilities, securing budget, and coordinating the efforts of team members to deliver projects according to plan
•    Team talent planning to identify proficiency, knowledge, and skill gaps
•    Implement staffing plan to recruit resources to fill gaps
•    Lead product validation engineers to ensure the delivered end-to-end systems meet customer needs and the program objectives
•    Actively engage employees in helping manage performance and development while fostering an environment that is conducive to productivity and individual growth

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
  • 10+ years relevant product development / engineering experience 
  • 2+ years of experience leading technical teams

 

Preferred Qualifications

•    Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Management
•    Resource management experience with the ability to delegate responsibilities and to match assignments/tasks to skill sets, experience, and capacity
•    Demonstrated leadership qualities in building successful teams.
•    Experience in driving change, improvement, and organizational development
•    Hands-on experience with Off-Road, Commercial Vehicle, or Automotive products.
•    Previous program management experience is highly desired.
•    Proficiency in completion of multiple medium to large projects from conception to product release, utilizing the Global Product Development Process.

Pay Transparency

​The annual salary for this role is USD $130,000.00 - $205,000.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
