Job Purpose

The Driveline Test Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting complex physical evaluations for the function, performance, and durability of driveline components and systems. The intern will work in a cross-functional environment; interfacing regularly with Design Engineering, Materials Engineering & Design analysis teams in support of New Product Development as well as Current Product Problem Resolution. The intern will gain basic understanding of transmission and axle fundamentals as well as knowledge of Test equipment, CNH test methodologies, and test operating systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, set-up, operate, and monitor driveline component and systems tests in laboratory environment for CNH AG equipment.
  • Interface with stakeholders to completely understand test requirements.
  • Establish, follow, and document lab test procedures
  • Assist in the hands-on assembly, disassembly, and inspection of components under test.
  • Provide direction to lab technicians as well as provide hands on involvement in the installation, set-up, calibration and operation of test equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with test equipment or drivelines under test, to determine and implement corrective action.
  • Determine if the component(s) / system(s) under test are operating according to the intended design criteria.
  • Recognize trends in component and system function and performance & propose improvements to address identified problems or to optimize driveline system or component performance.
  • Interface effectively with support groups and customers, such as Design Engineering, Materials
  • Engineering, Design Analysis, and Manufacturing.
  • Collect and analyze test data, using it to identify trends or problems.
  • Communicate data & results effectively; both verbally and in writing via formal technical test reports.

Experience Required

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or similar.
  • Solid hands-on mechanical skills.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical control systems.
  • Good computer skills with MS office suite.
  • Ability to work independently and recognize issues that need to be escalated.
  •  Attentive to detail.
  • Ability to conduct technical hands-on and analytical tasks with little supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external collaborators.

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is USD $19.57 - $27.81 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
