Job Purpose

To ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards within the depot, supporting operational teams across all shifts and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update COSHH safety data sheets and ensure proper data recording.
  • Conduct and document risk assessments for all relevant activities.
  • Support ISO 45001 audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage fire registers, ensuring accurate records and accessibility.
  • Oversee MHE daily checks, report repairs, and track servicing.
  • Ensure LOLER certification compliance for lifting equipment.
  • Coordinate racking inspections (local and annual SEMA-certified) and follow up on repairs.
  • Monitor and arrange servicing for sprinkler systems, smoke detection, air conditioning, and speed doors.
  • Maintain records of First Aiders, arrange training, and ensure compliance.
  • Support Team Leaders in promoting safe working practices across shifts.
  • Keep accurate records of inspections, certifications, and audits.
  • Raise and track Purchase Orders for safety-related servicing and repairs.

Experience Required

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and support operational teams across multiple shifts.
  • Problem-solving and risk assessment capability.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and compliance records.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification).
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, LOLER, and COSHH regulations.
  • First Aid certification (preferred).
