Job Purpose
Act as the controlling reference point for the inbound transportation area, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and consistency of financial information. This role is accountable for developing projections (budget and forecast), preparing management and financial reports, and monitoring key performance indicators to provide meaningful insights for decision-making. The specialist will analyze cost and expense variances, support budget adherence, and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimization, always aligned with corporate guidelines. In addition, the role ensures compliance with accounting, tax, and internal control standards (including SOX), and provides support to both internal and external audits. By partnering closely with the transportation business team, the specialist will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, improving result predictability, and contributing to the profitability and long-term sustainability of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial projections (Budget/Forecast) and management reports for inbound transportation.
- Monitor financial KPIs and analyze cost and expense variances (actual vs. budget, actual vs. prior year).
- Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and SOX requirements, supporting audits when needed.
- Partner with the transportation team to track budget execution and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic planning, business plans, and decision-making.
Experience Required
- Background in finance and controlling, with strong accounting knowledge.
- Proven track record in process improvement and implementation of best practices.
- Experience supporting audits and ensuring compliance with SOX and internal controls.
- Experience in multinational environments, with reporting and collaboration across global teams.
- Hands-on experience with financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning (FP&A).
- Demonstrated ability to act as a business partner, engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Previous exposure to inbound transportation/logistics cost structures and financial impacts (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI or similar) is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced communication skills, including preparation and presentation of management reports.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
