Job Purpose: Tax Reform Supply Chain Business Partner

Mission of the role: Act as a bridge between Tax/Finance and the areas of Procurement, Transportation (Inbound/Outbound), and Industrial Processes, leading the preparation and implementation of changes from the Consumption Tax Reform (CBS/IBS/IS) during the transition period 2026–2032, ensuring compliance, operational continuity, credit capture, contract review, and proper system parameterization (ERP/tax, electronic documents, and calculation routines).

Main responsibilities

  • Transition management 2026–2032 (roadmap and governance)

    • Build and maintain the transition plan with interface areas.

    • Define governance, backlog, and prioritization by risk/impact (cash, margin, compliance, customers/suppliers).

    • Coordinate integrated testing (process + system + tax document) and internal controls.

  • Impact assessment by processes (Procurement, Transportation, Industrial)

    • Validate mapped processes (from interface areas) where the reform changes: pricing, incidence and place of taxation (destination), credit entitlement and appropriation.

    • Create process maps and impact matrix by type of operation: domestic purchase, import, transfer, manufacturing, service contracting, freight, export.

  • Import and export (trade + tax + logistics)

    • Review import flows of inputs and goods: classification, aggregated costs, related services (international freight, insurance, warehousing, ancillary expenses), and impacts on credit/debit.

    • Review export flows and associated logistics chain, ensuring tax consistency and documentation.

    • Align with Trade Compliance and customs brokers for consistency between customs documents and tax/ERP records.

  • Procurement: contracts, suppliers, and commercial terms

    • Monitor impact mapping of current contracts and cascade communication.

    • Reassess tax clauses, adjustments, gross-up, pass-through, responsibilities, and required evidence if not within the partner’s scope (e.g., logistics services, outsourced manufacturing, maintenance).

    • Define strategy to avoid margin erosion: renegotiation with suppliers, SLA updates, and billing models (service vs. supply).

    • Create guides for supplier registration and tax approval.

  • Transportation: freight, warehousing, and logistics services

    • Define tax and operational treatment for freight (inbound/outbound), warehousing, and logistics services.

    • Ensure consistency between TMS, invoicing/CTe (when applicable), service invoices, and bookkeeping.

  • Communication, training, and change management

    • Attend meetings with consultants/tax/business to collect inputs relevant to Finance (Supply Chain) and cascade communication.

    • Create and deliver training for Procurement/Logistics/Industrial: “what changes,” “how to execute,” “what not to do.”

    • Publish playbooks, FAQs, operational checklists, and exception guides.

  • Systems & Digital Transformation

    • Translate tax requirements into system specifications.

    • Work with IT and system providers (OTM/TMS; SAP; E-comex; SILAS).

    • Validate tax parameterization and end-to-end integrations.

Experience Required

Education and experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, International Trade, or related fields.

  • Solid experience with indirect taxes and supply chain/industrial processes (or tax consulting/PMO).

  • Experience in multinational companies with import/export operations.

Essential technical knowledge

  • Practical understanding of the reform architecture: CBS, IBS, Selective Tax, and transition period.

  • ERP (preferably SAP) and tax integration (tax determination, tax registration, MM/SD, interfaces).

  • Processes: P2P, logistics (TMS/WMS), manufacturing (PP), O2C.

  • Ability to translate tax rules into system requirements and operational procedures.

Behavioral competencies

  • “Business partner” profile: influence without authority, negotiation, facilitation.

  • Project organization and discipline (prioritization, risks, deadlines).

  • Clear communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Advanced English (multinational environment).
