Job Purpose

As the EHS Specialist, you will perform activities that focus on the environment, health, safety programs that aid in achieving the company’s total EHS vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, implements, and coordinates the organization's environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs and procedures to safeguard employees and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations.
  • Develops recommendations to prevent incident occurrences, promotes safety conscious work performance, and training programs applicable to the depot's policies and processes.
  • Assists depots in pollution prevention and waste minimization programs through monitoring and technical mentorship.
  • Collects, analyzes, and publishes EHS metrics for multiple locations within the region.
  • Conducts job risk assessments, safety audits, and investigations to ensure compliance with government safety and health laws, standards, and regulations.
  • Builds and manages EHS training programs. Maintains applicable training records for multiple locations.
  • Manages worker’s compensation claims in partnership with local Human Resources department and Operational Leaders.
  • Responsibilities are within the EHS job family as a generalist or in a combination of functions.
  • Travel to other locations in the region is approximately 25%.

Experience Required

The qualified candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, etc) with a minimum of 1 year of EH&S experience
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience plus 3 or more years of EH&S experience OR
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience plus 5 or more years of EH&S experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional Certification (CSP) preferred
  • Continuous Improvement process experience, including tracking and data analytics
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with teams remotely
  • Strong computer skills

Pay Transparency

​The annual salary for this role is $61,125  - $89,650 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
