Job Purpose
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the regional foreign trade strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with customs, tax, and foreign trade regulations applicable in Argentina and Brazil.
- Oversee the proper application of special customs regimes and foreign trade facilitation programs.
- Lead audits, compliance processes, certifications, and document management related to customs operations.
- Ensure accurate tariff classification, origin certification, duty and tax determination, and application of Incoterms.
- Manage relationships with government authorities, regulatory agencies, customs brokers, freight brokers, and external service providers.
- Manage budgets, performance indicators, and supplier contracts related to foreign trade activities.
- Identify and implement cost optimization, savings, and process improvement opportunities.
- Drive digitalization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across regional Customs processes.
- Lead, develop, and manage teams located across different countries and sites, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
Experience Required
- More than 12 years of experience in Customs Operations or International Trade within multinational organizations.
- Experience leading customs operations in both Argentina and Brazil.
- Experience with audits, regulatory compliance, AEO/OEA programs, and customs documentation management.
- Experience working with foreign trade systems and platforms used in Argentina and Brazil.
- Experience managing customs brokers, freight brokers, and logistics service providers.
- Proven experience leading regional and multicultural teams.
- Experience managing budgets, contracts, and key performance indicators.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of imports, exports, tariff classification, certificates of origin, and Incoterms.
- Knowledge of special foreign trade regimes in Argentina and Brazil, including Temporary Admissions, Bonded Warehouses, In-House Customs Clearance, Free Trade Zones, Drawback, RECOF, Entreposto Aduaneiro, and other trade facilitation and tax optimization programs.
- Knowledge of foreign trade systems and platforms such as SIM/MARIA, Siscomex, Portal Único, and DUIMP.
- Fluent Portuguese/Spanish.
- Advanced English.
